The BBC World service has been looking at Kenya in the last few months because Kenya is about to be connected to very high speed internet connections. It is hoped that this will bring more communication and access to the outside world for a greater number of people. Currently the only access has been through very expensive satellite connections. Please not that I do not control the mis-spelling of the maasai word. Some people prefer to spell this as masai or massai. The vowel sound ‘aai’ pronounced ‘eye’ is very popular with the Masai. Masai has a long ‘a’. Researchers and academics now spell Masai ‘Maasai’. There is no correct spelling of a Masai word, because Masai is not a written Language. But the accepted correct spelling is Maasai.
